Since this .38 Special Military and Police was made 1955. it retains it'd M&P designation. this M&P has it's original finish. it stills carries its factory made, double diamond, checkered Medallioned grip grip panels. Both the speed hammer and the ribbed trigger retain beautiful color casehardening.. This revolver has a 5 screw frame, The five inch barrel has fixed sites, with a ramped and ribbed front site blade and a grooved top strap and a pinched rear sight. original grips and finish , ramped front blade, notched rear site. The trigger is a grooved service type with fine double action and a crisp single action let-off both noted with a short action as this revolver has. This revolver was a Clinchfield Railroad Police trade in that has served from 1944 until 1985 most of those thirty years in a holster. All markings sharp and clear as are the lands and grooves of the bore.
